They have been driven from their homes by bombs and bullets. Faced enormous hardship, starvation, disease. They have lost everything. Many come wounded. Yet they are the lucky ones . . .
. . . They are alive—while millions have died—in the wars, of starvation, or of disease. Yet their suffering is unimaginable to so much of the outside world where food, clothing, shelter, and care are taken for granted.
We have had too much experience in providing for refugees since our founding in 1998. But we have put that experience to use. It has taught us what bare essentials are necessary to most effectively and efficiently help these refugees survive.
We have already distributed refugee kits with food staples (sugar, salt, flour), blankets, mosquito nets, soap, and other essential items.
There is never enough, but every day there is more because of the generous outpourings from our supporters.
